The Computer Hut, one of Arkansas’ leading IT services firms, and UrbanLAN, a eight-year veteran of the IT services market in Northwest Arkansas, recently combined their companies to both expand their offerings and their market presence. The migration of the two firms was effective August 1 and the combined company continues to operate under the name The Computer Hut. John Pruett, Founder and President of UrbanLAN, has joined The Computer Hut’s team and remains based in Northwest Arkansas.
“UrbanLAN and The Computer Hut have worked together with several clients over the years,” said John Pruett, founder of UrbanLAN. “The more I got to know Chris and his team, and the more our clients looked for a greater scope of services, especially in the mobile environment, the more it made sense for us to integrate our firms under one name and solution set. This has been a educational integration and a great team to join.”
“John brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our company and we have already seen significant success in working with John to expand our presence in Northwest Arkansas,” said Chris Bates, CEO and President of The Computer Hut. “Our clients stay with us because of our high level of responsiveness and our ability to quickly and thoroughly address their IT needs, and John echoes that completely. His team and ours have integrated seamlessly.”
With the combination The Computer Hut gains additional client relationships in the consumer packaged goods, healthcare and construction industries in Northwest Arkansas. Additionally the expanded firm now delivers a larger scope of services for network and server administration, mobile device management and desktop support across operating systems for its clients. Particularly UrbanLAN brings to The Computer Hut advanced capabilities in mobile application analytics and development that is already in place for several clients.
